“The Rave Years” is a quintessential house tune which came out of the minds & souls of these four extremely talented & dope producers and writers I admire deeply: sonic technician and festival fave Dillon Nathaniel, Dantiez Saunderson who’s back on SLOTHACID after The Saunderson Family affair “Signature Tune” (released in 2020), Manchester’s own Rowetta of Happy Mondays ffame, and the awesome King Saaidi hailing from Detroit. “The Rave Years” has all ingredients to make a groovy uplifting roller with a nostalgic feel, it’s a timeless work that I’ll keep playing in years to come!

I’m so excited to have Mz Worthy release “Fig Mouth” on SLOTHACID!
The main element of her track, aside from the chunky beat, is a drone that rises and declines throughout the arrangement, with a massive break and drop, taking you on a body-mind-journey. Mz Worthy, who I love as an artist ever since the late 2000s, is a kind soul who has been releasing so many dope cuts over the years that I played out in clubs and at festivals. Niles Shepard are starting to feel at home on SLOTHACID with their third release and this time they have collaborated with Toronto duo, Dog N Hoss on 'Click Click Clack'.

This track brings different worlds together with a simple minimal bass line, reminiscent of the late 2000s but with loud distorted synths on top, and interspersed with tongue clicks that create a somewhat futuristic machine feel to this record. A certified banger!

Quoting Dog n Hoss, “Collaborating with NilesShepard on ‘Click Click Clack’ was just as natural as peanut butter and jelly on a sandwich. It was so easy to bounce ideas off one another that the track came together quite seamlessly and we knew right away we had a stomper on our hands. When we had heard that Sacha got a hold of the track and loved it we were over the moon, then when we found out he wanted to sign it to Slothacid we had to prevent ourselves from going warp speed to Tatooine.”

One of the first DJs to ask for a copy of “I’m Having Fun” after hearing it at Dirtybird Campout 2021 was LA-based fan favorite VNSSA. She’s been championing the original at festivals across the US ever since and then asked to remix it!

Her “Fun House Remix” balances out the whimsical original cut with a straight rolling and more ‘serious’ take. The comedic element in the form of Alex Hooper’s hilarious vocals is reduced and cinematic sound FX are interspersed throughout the arrangement, while a driving bass line and chunky loud percussive elements make this a great peak time floor destroyer.
