Hailing from the UK, GAWP stands for sonic quality and creative sound design - a seasoned producer and DJ who for years has made high quality tunes for the dance floor. You probably know him from his solo efforts as well as collabs with the likes of Gene Farris and Tough Love, and remixes of the likes of Idris Elba, Sonny Fodera etc.
GAWP delivered two cuts for #SLOTHACID, the EP title track “Brain Shrinker” and “Counter Punch”. Both these tracks sound fabulous on massive sound systems, as you’d expect! “Brain Shrinker” pairs a tough beat with percussive synths and an emotive melody that carries through some heavy breaks and drops, while “Counter Punch” sports a more reduced approach via arps and vocal cuts laced on a tough beat, creating tension throughout the track. The main element of her track, aside from the chunky beat, is a drone that rises and declines throughout the arrangement, with a massive break and drop, taking you on a body-mind-journey. Mz Worthy, who I love as an artist ever since the late 2000s, is a kind soul who has been releasing so many dope cuts over the years that I played out in clubs and at festivals. Niles Shepard are starting to feel at home on SLOTHACID with their third release and this time they have collaborated with Toronto duo, Dog N Hoss on 'Click Click Clack'.
This track brings different worlds together with a simple minimal bass line, reminiscent of the late 2000s but with loud distorted synths on top, and interspersed with tongue clicks that create a somewhat futuristic machine feel to this record. A certified banger!

It was so easy to bounce ideas off one another that the track came together quite seamlessly and we knew right away we had a stomper on our hands. When we had heard that Sacha got a hold of the track and loved it we were over the moon, then when we found out he wanted to sign it to Slothacid we had to prevent ourselves from going warp speed to Tatooine.”
